Best Virlo Alternatives in 2026 (Free & Paid)
Six real Virlo alternatives, free and paid, compared on one question: can the tool show where viewers leave your own video? Checked 30 Sep 2026.
A trend feed can tell you which video spread this week. It cannot tell you the second your own video started losing people. Those are different questions, and most creators only notice the gap after they have copied a trend perfectly and watched the retention graph fall off a cliff at second nine.
That gap is one reason people search for Virlo alternatives. This page compares six real options on one question: once you have a video, can the tool show you where in it viewers are likely to leave, and what to change at that moment? Some are genuinely free to start, and we say which. We build one of them, so treat our description as interested and every fact as checkable. Every competitor fact below was read from the vendor’s own public pages on 30 September 2026. Prices move, so check before you buy.
What Virlo does well
Credit first. We read Virlo’s own site today. It is a research and listening tool for short-form video: research agents that surface viral content and emerging creators, a tracking center with alerts for the creators and videos you care about, a Content Studio for AI-assisted creation, Meta ads intelligence, and an MCP server so you can connect it to AI agents. It covers TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels.
Pricing today is Starter at $49 a month for 2,000 credits, Pro at $199 for 12,000, and a custom Enterprise plan, with a free trial offered at signup.
If your job is to know what is spreading in a niche before it peaks, that is a real product and a broad one. What the site does not advertise is a look inside your own video: a pre-post check, a retention map, or timestamps for where viewers drop. That is a scope choice, not a flaw. We compared the two tools on other axes before: why a breakdown matters next to a trend feed in our Virlo alternative, and hook scoring in Blossom vs Virlo. This page is about the moment viewers leave.
Why “where did they leave” is the question that pays
A view count tells you a video did not travel. It does not tell you why. The why almost always has a timestamp.
- Leaving in the first three seconds means the opening did not earn the next second. That is a hook problem, and we covered it in visual vs verbal hooks.
- Leaving in the middle usually means a stretch with no new information: a long shot, a slow setup, a tangent. Our post on how fast you should cut is about exactly that stretch.
- Leaving right before the payoff means the promise was made but the delivery came too late.
Each of those needs a different fix. A single overall score cannot tell them apart, and a trend feed was never built to. So of each option below we asked three things:
- Can I check my own video, ideally before it is public?
- Does it show where in the video the risk is, with timestamps?
- Does it tell me what to change at that moment, not just that something is wrong?
One caveat covers every tool here, ours included. These are estimates read from the content. None of them can know your future views, and nothing can promise a video will travel. Our reasoning is in no tool can guarantee a viral video.
1. Blossom, for knowing what to change at the second it slips
This is ours. Blossom analyzes any public Instagram Reel or TikTok, or a draft you upload before posting, and the first thing on the result screen is a retention timeline running the length of your video.
What that timeline carries, as a creator sees it:
- An estimated curve for your cut, drawn against the range typical for videos of the same length, so “is this drop normal” has an answer.
- Drop markers pinned to the second. Each one says you are likely to lose viewers here, and why.
- Missing-beat markers. Something that should land by a point in the video and does not, such as the payoff arriving after most viewers would have gone.
- One fix plan. The markers link to the change most worth making first, instead of a list of twenty.
To check that the timing layer is real, we opened one video from our library through Blossom’s own AI-client connection on 30 September 2026: a 73-second TikTok recipe demo with about 1.4 million views. Leaving out the creator, the caption and the footage, the breakdown held a named format (Recipe Demo) and hook (Food Reveal), a structure of roughly five seconds of hook and ten of setup, shots averaging about five seconds, and the finished-dish reveal placed in the final eight seconds, from second 65. Every named technique carried its own time range. It flagged one weakness, no call to action near the end, with the fix to add a spoken or on-screen line before the reveal closes. That is the kind of map the timeline is built from: not “72 out of 100”, but what happens at which second.
Now the honest part, which matters against Virlo in particular:
- No free tier. Creator, Pro and Agency start with a 7-day trial that asks for a card, and Starter is billed from day one.
- The fixes behind the markers open from Creator. Starter, at $9.99 a month, shows the timeline and its markers. The fix attached to each marker opens on Creator at $39, and continues on Pro at $99.
- No YouTube Shorts. We cover Instagram and TikTok only. Virlo covers Shorts too.
- Scripts, not footage. We write scripts from videos that already worked in your niche. We do not generate video.
- Less listening. If your main job is monitoring many creators and ads across three platforms with alerts, Virlo is built for that and we are not.
2. PreAlgo, the free retention check
PreAlgo is the closest match to this page’s question and deserves to be near the top. Its site today says it grades your content, predicts retention, and shows the moments viewers lose interest, before you post. It also gives prioritized fixes for hooks, pacing and calls to action, and covers TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
The free plan is one full analysis every month, no card. Paid plans are Creator at $9.99 a month for 15 analyses, Pro at $24.99 for 50, and Agency at $79.99 for 200. It also advertises predicted view ranges, which we do not offer and would not promise. If you want one free retention read on a draft each month, start here.
3. TikAlyzer, drop-off timestamps at the lowest price
TikAlyzer is built around your own videos: upload a file or paste a TikTok, Reels or Shorts link and get hook analysis, a 0 to 100 score, and retention drop-off analysis that pinpoints the timestamps where viewers leave. Plans are Pro at $9.99 a month, Growth at $19.99 and Creator at $49.99. There is no free plan, but every tier has a 7-day money-back guarantee.
It answers the “where” question directly, on three platforms, for less than most tools here. What it does not advertise is a library of other creators’ analyzed videos to compare your structure against.
4. Viralo, the most free checks
Viralo combines an analyzer, a pre-publish review for drafts, and an AI script engine. Its pricing page today lists Free at $0 with no card (2 video analyses a month and 1 full detailed breakdown), Creator at $9 a month (30 analyses, 10 pre-publish reviews, 10 scripts), Pro at $22 and Agency at $59, with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
The pricing page does not spell out a retention timeline or drop-off timestamps, so we will not claim it has one. On price and free volume for a general pre-post check, it is hard to beat.
5. ReverseClip, for the Virlo side of the job, deeper on two platforms
If what you actually use Virlo for is watching competitors, ReverseClip is the nearest swap. It advertises competitor tracking on Instagram and TikTok, outlier detection for the top 1% of videos, a word-by-word hook analyzer for the first three seconds, pattern recognition, watchlists with alerts, and an AI script generator.
Plans are Starter at $29 a month, Pro at $79 and Business at $199, all with the same features and different limits, and a 7-day free trial with no card. Retention or drop-off analysis of your own draft is not advertised. It studies other people’s winners, and does that in depth.
6. Augur, niche monitoring for less
Augur covers the listening job at a lower entry price. It monitors organic and paid short-form content in custom niches around the clock across TikTok, Reels and Shorts, detects outliers and momentum shifts, analyzes hooks and sentiment, generates data-backed scripts, and includes Meta ads intelligence.
The free trial is 100 one-time credits with no card, then Starter at $19 a month as an early-bird price (listed as $29 after) and Pro at $59. Retention or drop-off timestamps are not advertised. If you like Virlo’s model and want it cheaper, look here first.

Look at the rows we lose. PreAlgo and TikAlyzer both show drop-off timestamps, both cover YouTube Shorts, and PreAlgo is free to start. Viralo is free too. We are the only tool in this table with no free way in. Where we differ is what sits around the timeline: a same-length benchmark behind your curve, markers for beats that are missing rather than only drops, one fix plan instead of a list, and a library of analyzed videos in your category to compare your structure against.
Picking by what you actually do
- You want to know what is spreading across three platforms, with alerts and ads intelligence. Stay on Virlo.
- You want that listening job for less. Augur.
- You mainly study specific competitors on Instagram and TikTok. ReverseClip.
- You want one free retention check on a draft each month. PreAlgo.
- You want drop-off timestamps as cheaply as possible, Shorts included. TikAlyzer.
- You want several free pre-post checks plus scripts. Viralo.
- You post on Instagram and TikTok, and you want the timeline tied to one clear fix and to what is working in your niche. That is the case we make for ourselves.
Can you use Virlo and Blossom together?
Yes, and the split is clean. Virlo tells you what to make. Blossom’s part starts once you have made it: check the cut, see where it is likely to slip, fix that moment, and post. One is research before the camera; the other is a read of what came out of it.
Quick answers
Is there a free Virlo alternative? Yes. PreAlgo and Viralo have free plans with no card, and Augur starts with free credits. Blossom is not free.
Does Virlo show where viewers drop off in my video? Not on its public site as of 30 September 2026. It advertises trend research, tracking, content creation and ads intelligence.
Which Virlo alternatives show drop-off timestamps? Of the tools here, PreAlgo, TikAlyzer and Blossom advertise it. Blossom attaches a fix to each marker from the Creator plan.
A last honest note
Knowing what spread is where a good video starts. Knowing the second yours slips is how it gets finished. Most creators need both, and no single tool here is best at both.
For the wider view of the category, including more rows where we lose, read our honest comparison of viral video analysis tools. Plan limits are in our FAQ. If the drop-off is the question you actually have, the 7-day trial at signup is the quickest way to test it. It asks for a card, and the fixes behind the timeline open from the Creator plan, so start the trial there if that is what you came for.
